Sri Aurobindo Ashram conducted a 7-day workshop for 41 teachers from rural areas encompassing integral education, project- based learning, self-reflection activities, meditation & yoga and training on progress reports for children covering all physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of development.

The project work approach is to strengthen the students by making them resourceful, initiative taking, responsible for their work and inculcates researching skill, reasoning power of experimentation. The NEP of India emphasizes that the teacher must be at the centre of the fundamental reforms in the education system. The policy must help re-establish teachers, at all levels, as the most respected and essential members of our society, because they truly shape our next generation of citizens. It must do everything to empower teachers and help them to do their job as effectively as possible. The Key principles highlighted are:

  • Recognizing, identifying, and fostering the unique capabilities of each student, Teachers and faculty as the heart of the learning process
  • Creativity and critical thinking
  • Focus on regular formative assessment for learning
  • Holistic Education
  • Ethics, Human & Constitutional Values
  • Integrity, transparency, and resource efficiency
