Youth Camp at Van Niwas, Nainital

A 5-day camp organized for vocational trainees (Boys and Girls separately), was to engage in different adventurous activities which included trekking to Land’s end view (4 km), Tiffin Top (8 km), Sri Aurobindo Peak (6.5 km), and Naina Peak (11 km), Rock Climbing which included; scrambling, bouldering, rock climbing, river crossing, rappelling, etc. to develop discipline for healthy body and mind. Apart from adventurous activities, trainees were also involved in physical fitness exercises, shramdaan, and evening meditation. Since many of them have come to the mountains for the first time, they found the opportunity to appreciate the beauty and peaceful surroundings of Van Niwas. Between the activities, trainees had some interactive sessions with Mr. Vishal Gupta who encourage the curiosity of questions related to Science, the Universe, and our existence as a whole. The best part of coming back from the treks and physical activities was the delicious and nutritious food prepared and served with love by the Van Niwas Ashram team. Girls said, “Didi, this food reminds us of our home”. Upon the successful completion of the camp; the participants were awarded a Participation Certificate and a book on National Integration.
